Turbo ARQ Scheme for Packet Data Transmission in Power Line Communication Systems

In this paper, turbo ARQ scheme is proposed and simulated for a high-speed power line communication system. Packet error performance is substantially improved by increasing the number of iterations in the turbo decoding process and interleaver length of a turbo encoder. It is confirmed that the Type I hybrid ARQ with SI (soft information) performs better than Type I hybrid ARQ without SI because the SI of the previous packet can be exploited as the a priori information for the current retransmission. The results in this paper can be applied to error control schemes for the high speed powerline communication systems.
